Our Services

SAFE SHELTER

Our Shelter is a 26 bed, secure facility that serves as 24/7 emergency shelter for victims of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault. There are six individual bedrooms; each with a closet, dresser, and bedside tables. A handicap-accessible bedroom is also available. Common Areas in the shelter include: Laundry facilities for residential clients, ample bathroom facilities, kitchen and dining areas, large living room with television, reading area, play area for children, computer area for preparing job application material and completing school work, and a secure outdoor patio to provide our residents the opportunity to enjoy sunshine, fresh air, and playtime with their children.

24/7 HOTLINE

Genesis staff are here to help and can be reached 24 hours a day, 356 days a year by calling our hotline at (765) 966-SAFE or toll-free at (800) 886-4508. All our services are confidential.

Our staff are prepared to respond to requests for emergency shelter, share additional information about our services, provide emotional support, assist with basic safety planning, respond to general questions about domestic violence and sexual assault, provide information and referrals to community resources.

ADVOCACY

Our advocacy services are available for all victims of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault, regardless of whether or not they are using our shelter services.

Our professionally trained Victim Advocates utilize a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach to provide individualized services to each client based on their personal needs and goals.

COUNSELING

Our Counselor is available free of charge to victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in one on one and group counseling settings. Counseling is available to both residential and outreach clients. Ongoing therapy is available for both adults and children who have been victims of violence and/or assault. Our counseling is private and individualized to meet the needs of the victim. Our counselor is a Masters level therapist trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other traditional methods. The counselor works closely with the Victim Advocates to develop treatment plans and conduct crisis intervention.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Our staff is available to give educational presentations to bring awareness of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and how to prevent these from happening in our community. These presentations can be modified to fit audiences of all ages from adolescents to older adults.
