Victim Advocate – Richmond
(NEW POSTING!)

The Victim Advocate will be responsible for the direct crisis intervention and support service delivery to survivors and secondary survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crises that A Better Way supports through primarily mobile advocacy.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST). Some on-call work will be necessary.

Two years of relevant experience in human services, counseling, social work, crisis intervention, or case management, OR the equivalent of college-level courses is required.

CRISIS SPECIALISTS

Crisis Specialist

The Crisis Specialist will assist in carrying out the mission and goals of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and A Better Way by providing high quality on the phone emotional support, intervention, information, and resources to all contacts.

Crisis Specialists will receive training related to active listening skills, suicide prevention practices, and utilization of agency resources to match callers with needed information.

Crisis Chat & Text Specialist

Seeking full-time and part-time positions for the Crisis Chat & Text Specialist, who will respond to incoming suicide chats/texts through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline chat/text program to provide support and referrals as needed.

Weekends 12pm-8pm Needed
Weekdays and Weekends 8pm-4am

Degree work in human service or related field preferred. Comparable experience in suicide prevention and crisis intervention will be taken into consideration.
