Crisis Chat & Text Specialist

Seeking full-time and part-time positions for the Crisis Chat & Text Specialist, who  will respond to incoming suicide chats/texts and provide support and referrals as needed.

Weekends 12pm-8pm Needed
Weekdays and Weekends 8pm-4am

Degree work in human service or related field preferred. Comparable experience in suicide prevention and crisis intervention will be taken into consideration.

Crisis Chat & Text Shift Lead

Seeking full-time and part-time positions for the Crisis Chat & Text Shift Lead, who will oversee and help train Chat and Text Specialists during their designated shift.

Part-time (Weekends Only) 12pm-8pm and 8pm-4am (16-20 hours per week)
Full-time (Weekdays) 8pm-4am (40 hours per week)

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.  Comparable experience in suicide prevention and crisis intervention will be taken into consideration.

Crisis Chat & Text Shift Supervisor

Seeking full-time and part-time positions for the Crisis Chat & Text Shift Supervisor, who will supervise all shift leads and specialists, ensuring quality control for their designated shift and assist in any reporting and training.

Part-time (Weekends Only) 8pm-4am (16-20 hours per week)
Full-time (Weekdays) 8pm-4am (40 hours per week)

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Comparable experience in suicide prevention and crisis intervention will be taken into consideration.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Grant Administrator

The full-time position of Grant Administrator manages the outcomes, objectives and timeliness of Grants that support the overall strategy of A Better Way. The Grant Administrator will focus on grant writing assistance, data, and success story accumulation in a way that supports the overall mission and direction of the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field; or the equivalent in relevant experience (4 years) is required.

Night Case Manager

The full-time position of Night Case Manager will assist victims of domestic violence, as well as their children, with needs they may have while residing in our emergency shelter during the evening and overnight hours. This person will be trained and take calls on a crisis hotline. There are also supportive duties, such as cleaning and clerical work, to be done when the phones are not ringing.

Apply your Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or a related field, couple it with your experience, and join our team at A Better Way. Case Manager RRH

The part-time position of Case Manager – RRH will be responsible for providing rapid rehousing and direct support services to homeless individuals in the Muncie community.

  • Provide crisis intervention services on phone and in person for homeless adults and their children
  • Work with clients regarding their housing options.
  • Provide referrals as needed
  • Assist individuals through emotional support, advocacy, casework, budgeting and other supportive services
  • Complete client assessment using the SPDAT, assist clients in setting goals, monitor clients’ progress on personal action plan and report participation, progress and problems.
  • Educate clients on maintaining successful long-term housing

Caseworker

The part-time position of Caseworker will assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as their children, with needs they may have while residing in our emergency shelter. This person will be trained and take calls on a crisis hotline and a suicide hotline. There are also supportive duties, such as cleaning and clerical work. Hours will vary.

High school or equivalent preferred and driver’s license required.
